AI for Breast Cancer Diagnostic Support
The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership has awarded a significant contract to Ibex Medical Analytics Ltd for the CLI-VEA-57525 project, focusing on breast cancer diagnostics. The project's total value is £167,447.96, aiming to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cancer diagnosis through artificial intelligence technologies.
This innovative software package will assist pathologists in assessing and quantitating tumor markers in breast cancer biopsies, ultimately improving patient care. By deploying AI, the solution will allow for better identification and characterizing of cancerous findings, thus supporting pathologists in their critical role.
The successful pilot program at BCUHB has demonstrated the potential of this technology, which is now set for wider implementation across all Health Boards in Wales.
