Contract Award for Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has recently announced the awarding of a contract for the provision of Tier 1 and 2 stereotactic radiosurgery services. The contract, amounting to approximately GBP 1,338,048, will be executed by Thornbury Radiosurgery Centre Limited, located in Sheffield. This collaboration aims to enhance the quality and availability of health services, particularly in the complex area of radiosurgery. The contract covers a duration of 12 months, commencing on 5 October 2024 and concluding on 30 September 2025.
The objective of this award is to ensure that there is adequate support for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 services. By leveraging the expertise and established operations of Thornbury Radiosurgery Centre, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is poised to provide robust and resilient care for patients requiring advanced stereotactic radiosurgery. This award follows a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) process, emphasizing the importance of quality in health service delivery. The decision rests on a comprehensive assessment of the contractor's capability to meet the expected standards and requirements outlined in the NHS Standard Subcontract.
As part of the conditions for this contract award, it should be noted that the PSR guidelines govern the agreement, distinct from standard public contracts regulations. Providers who wish to raise representations concerning this intention to award must do so by 4 October 2024, marking the start of a standstill period before the contract is formalized.
