Contract Award for Student Transport Services

Anglia Ruskin University Higher Education Corporation has concluded a contract for the provision of transportation services for its School of Medicine students. The contract was awarded to A2B Contract Cars Limited following a restricted procedure, with a total estimated value of £350,000. This service will cover transportation for Year 1 and Year 2 undergraduate medical students, with around 240 students utilizing this service during weekdays, excluding bank holidays.

The awarded contractor, A2B Contract Cars Limited, located in Stansted, will facilitate student transportation to and from various hospitals in Essex, including Basildon, Broomfield, Southend, Colchester, and Harlow Hospitals. This contract ensures that students can efficiently travel to secondary care placements, which can vary depending on admissions and performance throughout the academic year.

With four tenders received from SMEs, the decision was based on the lowest price criteria, reinforcing the university's commitment to providing quality services while managing costs effectively. The process was carried out through the university's eTendering system, ensuring transparency and ease of access for potential contractors.
