Contract Awarded for Timber Supplies
North Tyneside Council has successfully awarded contracts for timber supplies under the framework contract named 'Contract 18 - Timber Supplies 2024-26'. This initiative is set to enhance the availability of essential timber goods for public services. The contract is valued at approximately £800,000 and will commence on September 1, 2024.
The awarded contractors include National Timber Group England Ltd, Arnold Laver based in Sheffield; Jewson Partnership Solutions, a part of Saint-Gobain Building & Distribution Ltd located in Coventry; and J T Dove Ltd from Newcastle. Each contractor will collaborate closely with the Council to promote improvements and meet the objectives outlined in the contract.
This framework, lasting an initial 24 months, offers an option for extension for up to an additional two twelve-month periods. The contract aims to ensure that at least three suppliers are available to meet the fluctuating demands for timber supplies, thus enabling better pricing options through annual mini-competitions among the awarded contractors.
