Leicestershire County Council Awards Contracts
Leicestershire County Council has recently concluded a series of contracts for the provision of psychological and therapeutic services aimed at supporting children and families. Following the Direct Award Process B in accordance with The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, this initiative is designed to create a list of approved providers who meet the necessary standards for delivering therapeutic services.
Over the next five years, the estimated aggregated value of the contracts totals £6,000,000, with individual contracts ranging from £1 to £6,000,000. This broad range allows flexibility in service delivery based upon actual needs. Noteworthy providers in this initiative include Abbie Thompson from Derbyshire, Alyssa Fitzpatrick Play Therapy from Loughborough, and many others.
The council emphasizes that each contract has been awarded without any guaranteed level of activity, demonstrating a commitment to quality over quantity in service delivery. As a result, children will have access to evidence-based therapeutic services, aiding them in processing historical or current trauma.
The awarded contracts will be in place from June 6, 2024, through May 31, 2029. This solidifies Leicestershire County Council's dedication to offering child-centered support through a diverse group of competent providers across the United Kingdom.
