Major Airlift Services Contract Awarded

The Ministry of Defence has recently awarded two significant contracts under the Airlift Services Framework (ASF) on 9th September 2024, with a total value of £130 million. This framework will play a crucial role in enhancing the UK's air charter capabilities, particularly in supporting defence operations.

LOT 1 was awarded to Maersk Logistics & Services UK Ltd, which focuses on whole charter passenger and freight partnering. This contract amounts to £80 million, and Maersk will be responsible for ensuring seamless logistics and air transport services.

LOT 2 was awarded to ACC Aviation Ltd, focusing on rapid response services for air charter needs. This contract, worth £50 million, highlights the UK's commitment to maintain a robust air capability for immediate operational requirements.

With a total of nine offers received between the two lots, the competitive tendering process reflects the high demand and strategic importance of air transport in defence operations. The Ministry of Defence emphasizes that these selections were based on stringent evaluation criteria to ensure efficient service delivery and value for money.

This award not only strengthens the Ministry’s operational readiness but also supports the UK's broader defence strategy, maintaining its engagement in critical defence logistics.
