NHS England Contracts IPS Expansion
NHS England has formally awarded a contract to Social Finance Limited aimed at expanding access to Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services for individuals facing severe and enduring mental health challenges. This initiative is designed to help the NHS meet its Long Term Plan targets by addressing the existing regional discrepancies in service provision.
The awarded contract, valued at approximately £26,668,022, will span multiple years from 2023 to 2029 and is anticipated to enhance IPA services across eight regional locations and 42 IPS services throughout England. Social Finance Limited, known for its expertise in social financial solutions, will act as the coordinating delivery partner.
This contract aligns with NHS England’s strategy to ensure that individuals with mental health issues receive the necessary support and placement opportunities, ultimately improving their quality of life and integration into the workforce. Furthermore, the initiative responds to key implementation challenges while adhering to the IPS Fidelity Model.
NHS England chose Social Finance Limited based on its proposal that demonstrated a strong technical approach, social value considerations, and competitive pricing structure, emphasizing the importance of quality and accountability in service delivery.
