NHS Wales IT Relocation Project Awarded

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership has awarded the contract for the IT Relocation Project, officially titled PHW-ITT-54351, to COMPUTER RELOCATIONS LIMITED. This initiative is part of a broader effort to establish a national center of excellence for precision healthcare by relocating the PHW Pathogen Genomics Unit's computational infrastructure.

The move involves transferring vital IT equipment, including servers, storage solutions, tape libraries, and UPS systems, from various locations in Cardiff to a new facility at the Cardiff Edge science park. This relocation is crucial for enhancing the operational efficiency and technology capabilities of the healthcare system in Wales.

COMPUTER RELOCATIONS LIMITED, based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, successfully participated in an open bidding procedure that attracted five tenders, all from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The total value of the awarded contract is estimated at £47,842, which highlights the commitment to supporting local businesses.
