Portsmouth Day Opportunity Services Framework
Portsmouth City Council has successfully awarded an Open Framework Agreement for the provision of learning disability day services. This agreement is designed to create diverse and varied opportunities for individuals, supporting approximately 305 residents in the Portsmouth area. The framework will allow both Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and larger providers to contribute to a rich array of services available to users. In total, fourteen providers have been admitted to the framework, with the possibility for new applications to be accepted at designated times each year.
The framework, valued at approximately £48.8 million over an 8-year term, is a significant step in enhancing community support for individuals with learning disabilities. Services will be honed to deliver meaningful activities focused on achieving health, independence, and community engagement. Notably, these services are aimed at fostering relationships and supporting supply chains while providing opportunities for family carers to have essential time for other commitments.
The awarded providers include organizations such as Alma Valley Healthcare Limited, Aldingbourne Trust, Chaos Support Ltd, among others. They each bring unique capabilities to meet the needs of the community. This new framework is expected to stimulate the local economy while ensuring that residents receive the support they need. Furthermore, the council anticipates that significant spending will occur, thereby enhancing the quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities in Portsmouth and surrounding areas.
